Description
Through this service the e-puertobilbao electronic commerce platform provides customers and users with a telematic channel to back up delivery and acceptance interchange among shipping agents, terminals, depots, transporters and forwarders.
Thus, a new operation is added, bringing the scenario for land goods entering and leaving the Port closer to completion. The process began in July 2008 with the pre-notification service, and the whole scenario will be completed when the goods entering and leaving the Port by rail and the transport organization services, both of which are in the development phase, come into operation.
Target Group
In principle, the service is targeted at container traffic mainly for shipping companies, terminals and warehouses, although land transport companies and forwarders also take part in the information interchange.
Advantages
This service will allow traffic to be rationalized and will speed up management of gates and stevedoring terminals in the Port. If the pre-notification service is added, together with the use of the licence plate scanner, the means of transport can enter almost immediately without any other checks.
In addition, transport information is electronically transmitted to other participating agents, such as road and rail land transport companies, warehouses and forwarders, thus avoiding errors and queues. All the transport stages can also be correctly managed.
